Manufacturers deliberately intend for condenser and evaporator coils to work together in order to provide the best possible cooling for an application. Both the coils must be replaced together and never in isolation. Do not be tempted to oversize or undersize one replacement coil when it is not designed for that capacity. Even if you think that it will be cheaper to just replace the coil that has failed, rather than replacing two coils. That might seem like the best solution, but in the long run it will cost more and your system will not run as efficiently as one in which the replacement coils match. That is particularly true if the remaining coil is more than 5 years old. An additional problem is that a mismatched replacement coil can put additional strain on the cooling system, resulting in premature failure. Thus could lead to replacing the whole system instead of just getting replacement coils. Installing matched evaporator and condenser replacement coils makes a lot more sense because this will make the system more reliable and efficient while it provides the highest level of comfort to the users. Properly matched replacement coils will operate at their fullest efficiency, providing the customer with the most comfortable environment. There will also be a greater reduction of cost then if the replacement coils are mismatched. Coils that are not properly optimized will not remove the right amount of moisture and consequently comfort or efficiency may be sacrificed.
