A Resource Guide to Solar Energy

For centuries people have been heating their homes and businesses with traditional methods such as oil, wood and coal. However, as we have used these materials, it has had an impact on the environment. Because of using wood to heat, we have cut down trees. To use oil heat, you need to find, drill and refine crude oil. And, to heat with coal, you need to go into the mines and dig it up.

All of these methods are good for heating, however, it is at a price. The emissions from the heat has helped produce smog and other pollutants. And, by using natural resources, they are not able to be immediately replenished. Because of the use of these resources, people have had to come up with alternative sources of energy. The use of wind and water are just a couple of ways to harness natural resources, but one of the most efficient is the use of solar power.

Solar power uses the rays of the sun to be converted to heat, lights and other forms of energy. The energy produced by the sun is collected, and then stored until needed. From that point, the solar power is converted into energy that can be used by consumers or businesses. And, since the sun is a reusable resource, solar power is an ideal source of energy.

To help understand how solar power works; here is a collection of resources on solar power, its uses and benefits:
