The Shell and Tube (u-tube) is the most common type of heat exchanger used in petroleum, chemical and HVAC industries, it contains a number of parallel u-tubes inside a shell .The shell and tube heat exchanger is one of the most cost-effective ways to heat or cool large amounts of fluid in commercial HVAC systems. A heat exchanger is a device for moving heat from one processed fluid to another. They usually consist of a series of tubes encased in the shell. One fluid, which needs to be heated, passes through the network of tubes, while another fluid, which needs to be cooled, passes through the surrounding shell. Today most heat exchangers follow the shell and tube design. Due to their design, shell tube heat exchangers offer a large heat transfer area and provide high heat transfer efficiency.

A shell with the structure that of a ‘welded shell protected with high quality paint for corrosion resistance ‘ is used.

The tube bundle is built from stainless steel tubes .This allow for strong, durable performance over a wide range of applications. Unique tube bundle layout minimizes buildup problems at the edges and optimizes media flow in the unit.

There are many different types or designs of shell and tube heat exchangers to meet various process requirements. Shell and Tube heat exchangers can provide steady heat transfer by utilizing multiple passes of one or both fluids. Shell and tube heat exchangers come in two (2) and four (4) pass models standard, and multi-pass custom models.

Shell and Tube heat exchangers use baffles on the shell-side fluid to accomplished mixing or turbulence. Without the use of baffles, the fluid can become stagnant in certain parts of the shell.

We have in-depth knowledge of the various replacement shell and tube options available and we are happy to help you with the instillation of a higher efficiency shell and tube heat exchanger.
