The industrial fans blowers are most commonly used to provide personnel and spot cooling in industrial and commercial buildings where air conditioning is not feasible or is too costly.   Explosion-Proof motors are ideally suited for hazardous locations as defined by the motor’s explosion-proof class and group rating. They are available in single phase or three phase voltage configurations. Explosion-Proof motors are very versatile. Three phase 60 Hz designs are inverter-rated for use with any drive and are name plated 190/380 V, 50 Hz for use overseas. Explosion proof motors are designed for general use or on fan duty applications in hazardous locations. Typical locations include paint and varnish plants, gasoline refineries, grain elevators, flour and feed mills, or coal processing plants.

The main features that make these motors reliable are the usage of stainless steel nameplate which provides permanent motor identification. Ball bearings are double shielded and permanently lubricated for the life of the motor. Steel inserts in 6.4-inch diameter motor end shields to eliminate hammered-out bearing housings. 24-inch long leads, including ground lead, out through explosion proof fitting on opposite drive end. Non sparking fan on TEFC designs.
